Supporting Our Seniors
Among her many roles as a McHenry County Board Member, Carolyn Campbell is an active leader on the Senior Services Grant Commission.
In 2025, McHenry County Board Chairman Mike Buehler asked Carolyn to join the Commission. Her dedication to the mission, understanding of the challenges faced by aging McHenry County seniors, ability to objectively evaluate grant applications, and demonstrated willingness to put in the extra time commitment make her ideal for the role.
Like so many of us, Carolyn has personal experience helping aging relatives navigate the challenges of maintaining dignity and their desire (and, often, the need) to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
The Senior Services Grant Commission was created after McHenry County voters approved a referendum in 2003 to support senior citizens by funding quality social and transportation services that encourage independent living, wellness, dignity, and quality of life for McHenry County seniors.
There are many excellent assisted living communities in McHenry County, but they may not be an option for many families, and this relatively small community investment - driven by public request - creates a meaningful lifeline.
